Hello, I have just been looking through what appears to be an amended set of standings as my understanding was that Adrian and myself had up until the end of the series been on equal V75 category points so it was a surprise to see that we have now been classified 1st and 2nd. I do not want to give the impression of being a poor sport and would be the first to congratulate Adrian as he is at the top end of V75 having gone into V80 and this is my first year as V75. It is also the case that I run the races because I still can and the battle is mainly against myself.
I have looked at the individual results and would like to make the following comments
All the results as shown on the standings up to race 10 the Towneley 10 K I would agree with The V75 winner on the published results was Alan Wilkinson of Trawden 1.01 49 2nd V75 Adrian 1.06.36 Alan Fairhead ARR 3rd and I was 4th; In the standings Adrian is credited 1st V75 and I am credited 3rd;
In the Greenway 5K the results show 1st V75 Alan Wilkinson Trawden 29.01 ;Adrian 2nd 30.00 ; and I was 3rd 32.23. In the standings Adrian is credited with 1st V75 and I was credited with 2nd
Race 12 Worsthorne the standings and the results are the same but for Boulsworth Again Alan Wilkinson of Trawden was 1st V75 1.28.03 I was 2nd 1.35.46 and Adrian who was 1st V80 finished in 1.47.50 In the standings I am credited with 1st V75 and Adrian 2nd.
One of the things that made me give this a double take was the fact that at Boulsworth I think it was Jamie brought Adrian and myself out to the front at the start and commented that we were equal in the standings and that whichever of us came in first would win the category My comment was not necessarily because I knew that for either of us to win the category with the standings as published at that time it would require winning the age category in that race. As it was I was 2nd and Adrian 3rd.
Unless the results of Alan Wilkinson from Trawden have been scratched for some reason Adrian and myself would have remained on the same score of 10 points each.
I know it is late in the day and as I said I am not a bad sport just disappointed the way the standings have finished up.
Regards Neil

Hello again, after sending the reply regarding the final veteran standings it struck me that one of my last sentences was regarding the results of Alan Wilkinson from Trawden having been scratched and then I realised that it was probably because he could have started the GP season in the V70 Category which was confirmed when I had a look at the V70 standings.
My apologies for any inconvenience or fuss but I now understand why the standings changed.
Regards Neil
